Rhode Island Wild Plant Society Events
ADVANCE REGISTRATION REQUIRED for all events with fees (and sometimes for those without fees). Register: 401-789-7497 or office@riwps.org 48 hours before walk. Fee. Make payment 48 hours ahead. Send check to RIWPS, PO Box 414, Exeter, RI 02822. Registered participants receive directions and details by e-mail or telephone. Walks rated easy, moderate, or strenuous for healthy people of average physical ability. Leaders are volunteers with no special training in first aid; participants assume full responsibility for their own well being. CANCELLATION:notify us asap so we may notify those on waiting list. DRESS AND EQUIPMENT: Usually long pants and sturdy shoes and socks (poison ivy, briers, ticks). Equipment might include insect repellent, hat, rubber boots, field guides, hand lens, small notebook, and/or hiking stick.
