Flower and garden shows galore are gearing up for the coming winter, but see something different this year!

Catch the DIG IT! Rollin’ Garden Party Bus on Thursday, February 22, for a long-awaited, spring-like romp to the 37th Annual Connecticut Flower & Garden Show at Hartford Convention Center, where the architecture rivals the show.

One acre of naturalistic, low maintenance, native, organic, herb and pollinator gardens, two acres of marketplace vendors and 13 free seminars will fill your day with a Breath of Spring, the show’s theme for 2018. And you can bring a 1/2 cup of soil to the UConn Co-op booth for free soil testing.

The 300+ exhibitors and vendors include Bovano of Cheshire, creators of handmade glass, enamel and copper sculptures that are “fired with imagination.” If you’re looking for gorgeous ironwork to embellish your garden, Greg’s Antiques and Garden Iron from Kentucky will make you salivate.

A representative from each of the 15 gardens and historic sites of Connecticut Historic Gardens will also be available to answer questions. Each member property has historically accurate gardens and houses.

The Federated Garden Clubs of CT presents their Advanced Standard Flower Show of design, horticulture and photography competition with more than 250 judged entries.

Finally, don’t forget Fido, your best friend! “Stop, drop and drool” at Whisker’s Biscuits with handmade treats for your dog. Ryan says research shows that people who own homes (and gardens) also own animals, so they are here for you.
