Sweet Summer road trip.

STOP 1: Bedford Hills. This three-acre garden in Bedford Hills has many facets includes perennial borders, water gardens, a formal vegetable garden, wildflowers, fern and marsh gardens, hidden garden and formal croquet court. Suprises abound, such as well-behaved American wisteria and a garden of giant leafed plants.

STOP 2: Lunch on our own in the charming hamlet of Katonah. Use a bit of time to explore.

STOP 3: Cortlandt Manor. Behind the hundreds of azaleas and mountain laurel that frame the seven-acre garden along the road, mixed borders of native and Asian species thread through hundreds of hellebore and magnolias. Discover a succulent garden, a Stumpery, vegetable garden, and rare tropical plants around the pool and in four greenhouses. Picturesque moments are everywhere.

Date: September 18, 2024 Rain or Shine. First come; first served.
Bus: Leaves Rockaway Townsquare Mall, across from the Hilton Garden Inn. 9AM Sharp! Board by 8:45. Give yourself lots of time. Rt.80
Cost: $ /person includes bus, garden admissions, guided tour, water and goodies.
Be prepared to do a lot of walking and for possible rain. Not handicap accessible.
